Malawi Folktales and Database Community Launch at NLS Headquarters

The National Library Service (NLS), with support from REI Foundation Limited, is excited to announce the Community Launch of the Malawi Folktales and Folksongs Database, happening at the NLS Headquarters. This marks the second phase of the project, following the initial unveiling, and is designed to engage the wider public. The digital archive preserves Malawi’s rich cultural heritage by housing a vast collection of traditional stories and songs. The launch aims to provide access to the platform for researchers, students, children, and local communities, furthering NLS’s mission of safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and fostering educational enrichment.
