NLS Board orientation and library tour
NLS Board Orientation and Library Tour
The National Library Service (NLS) conducted a Board Orientation session followed by a guided tour of library facilities to familiarize Board Members with NLS operations, programmes, and service delivery points.
During the tour, the Board visited the newly constructed Auditorium Room under the Pabwalo Programme, which is sponsored by the REI Foundation. Management highlighted the purpose of the facility and its role in supporting community engagement, learning activities, and public programmes.
The Board also toured key departments including the Lending Department, Readers’ Services Department, Technical Services Department, Book Restoration Unit, Extramural Department, and inspected the Mobile Library Van, gaining insight into both in-house and outreach library services.
The orientation and tour provided the Board with practical exposure to NLS operations and strengthened their understanding of how library services are delivered to diverse users across the country.
