Handing over Katola Primary School Library
National Library Service with Support from Book Aid International has today handed over Katola Primary School Library.This development will help learners and teachers achieve their goals in seeking knowledge.
National Library Service has emphasized the need for more libraries in the country, highlighting their role as custodians of knowledge for society.
During the handover ceremony of a library at Katola Primary School in Lilongwe, Acting National Librarian Bonney Sangole noted a significant gap in library services, which are largely unrecognized.
“We are currently operating 16 branches across Malawi, with only one mobile library van serving the central region,” Sangole said.
Accepting the library on behalf of the school, Quality Assurance Officer for Lilongwe Rural East Malikha Zone, Stenza Msendema, stated that the library will provide a conducive learning environment for over a thousand students.
