27th October, 2023Outreach Storytelling tour to showcase folktales and historical footage

Lilongwe, Malawi- Malawi Commission for UNESCO (MNCU) is pleased to announce the start of an outreach storytelling tour from 30th October, 2023. This tour involves the screening of folktales, folksongs and digitized historical footage in communities, providing them with access to stories that have been passed down through generations. This is part of the “Safeguarding Malawian Folktales and Folksongs through Documentation” and “Transmission, Re-Housing and Digitization of 16mm film at the National Records and Archives Services of Malawi” projects, in collaboration with Rei Foundation Limited.
